Here are some responses to frequently asked questions

I just have an idea, can we talk about it?

Of course! We love hearing about new ideas and concepts and we don’t charge a dime for our time.Just book a meeting with us and let’s talk for 30 minutes about your concept. No cost. No obligations. If we can help, we will. If not, we will let you know. Regardless, we would love to hear from you!

Why should we hire you when we can find an offshore developer for a cheaper cost?

You shouldn’t.

If price is the only motivating factor then we won’t be a fit for you. It’s not because we are greedy, we just want to deliver great work…and that costs time, resources, and talent. In other words, money.

The other factor to consider is the time saved when working with experienced developers.
What takes other developers days or weeks to accomplish, we can often do in just hours.
Sure you may be paying a lower rate with someone else, but what matters more…price or results?

We focus on results.

Do you offshore your work?

No.

All development and project management is handled by Sean and Daniel. For certain needs, we do work with a small group of vetted freelancers that aid in our design, development, and testing efforts.

We believe in delivering a quality application so we control every aspect of its creation and only work with a small group of experienced freelancers, as needed.

Will you work with our current development team?

Yes. Here’s how.

We always assume the lead in developing a project. So as long as your team is comfortable working with us in that role, then not a problem.

Also, we know that some projects will require us to interface with other team members. Not a problem.

And if there are specific tools that need to be used, we are open to it.

Finally, once our work is completed, we will make sure we turn over all documentation and source code to your developers and allocate time to answer their questions.

We enjoy collaborating with other developers!

Will you work with our marketing/PR team?

Absolutely yes, and the sooner the better!

Marketing and PR are crucial for the success in launching an app and we want to work with them from project inception.

Their input on branding and product positioning is essential for us to be successful. So the sooner they are involved, the better.

Will you help us with marketing our app?

More than happy to help.

If you do not have a marketing team today, we can help with initial branding and product launch strategy.

Though we are not a marketing agency, we have a lot of experience branding and marketing our own apps!

How do you handle scope creep?

By making sure they don’t happen in the first place.

Using our the Rapid Application Development (RAD) Framework, we breakdown every deliverable into a series of specific tasks that you sign off on.

If we need to change the project, then we work together to document those changes into specific tasks and move forward.

Scope creep happens when projects are not well defined and we work hard to keep that from happening.

What guarantees do you provide?

If you are not 100% satisfied with our work, you may cancel a project at any time with no further obligation to pay for the remaining work.

We also offer a 6-month warrant guarantee; so if you find a bug, we fix it for free.

We outline all this in your project contract because we stand behind our work and want you to be comfortable working with us.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes.

However, once your app is made public, we reserve the right to disclose our involvement in its development.

If this is an issue, please let us know as we can work with you to find a mutually agreeable solution.

Who owns the app once done?

Once you pay for the app, it is yours!

All work we create for you is defined as “work made-for-hire” under US law. Hence, you own it.

The only caveat is that we often include reusable frameworks and software components we have developed internally. This work is released under an MIT License when included with your code.

We know software and contractor licensing can be complicated and we make sure to provide clear ownership rights in our contracts.

What if we don’t have users?

That’s not a problem. Let us help you recruit some!

We find that the best apps start with a core group of third-party end-users that have a clear need for it.

We can help you identify and recruit this group so that their perspectives, and needs, are incorporated into the development, from idea to launch.

How often do you communicate with us?

At least once a week, if not more.

We focus on rapid development cycles and continuous communication is crucial to meet the aggressive deadlines we set.

As long as you are available, we will make sure to keep you involved and in-the-know throughout your project.

Can we pay you via revenue-split or stock in our startup?

Generally the answer is no; except in certain circumstances.

Specifically, we are open to abating some of our development fee if you can demonstrate to us that your marketing/ad budget for your app is more than $1 million (US) in a 5 month period or if you have successively completed a Series A funding round in excess of $5 million in the past 6 months.
